35 Tons Stainless Steel Pipes Shipped to Spain on Aug 1st
It has been quite a while since Jiuzhou Metal’s last shipment to Spain. Fortunately, we have been privileged to send out another shipment to Spain on the first day of August. This shipment contains 35 tons of stainless steel pipe, which is considered one of the most needed steel items from many European countries like Spain.
Spain has a total area of 506,000 square kilometers, ranking fifth in Europe. Most of the territory is located on the Iberian Peninsula, connected to France and Andorra across the Pyrenees Mountains to the northeast, and Portugal to the west. It faces Morocco in Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar to the south. It faces the Bay of Biscay to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the east and Italy across the sea, and the Atlantic Ocean to the northwest and southwest.
As a matter of fact, Spain is not really a very frequent destination of export for Jiuzhou Metal compared with some nearby Asian neighbors, despite being one of the most populous countries in Europe with nearly 50 million population. This is mainly a result of a much longer sailing schedule and higher shipment costs caused by the long sailing distance, which was particularly significant over the last few months. Despite that, many Spanish clients still prefer to import from China instead of some countries from Europe or North America as the production cost, consisting mainly of labour cost, inventory cost, and raw material cost, is much lower in China than in many developed countries, which is also one of the reasons why China has become a favorite destination for many European buyers to seek bulk orders while minimizing their purchase costs.
This order placed by our Spanish client features the 403 stainless steel pipe, which is made of martensitic stainless steel with high chromium and low carbon. 403 stainless steel pipe has excessive amount of chromium content that leads to excellent corrosion resistance, making it stable and unaffected in harsh environments. High hardness, toughness and wear resistance are all strong reflections of its outstanding mechanical properties. The Nickel element helps 403 stainless steel form stable austenite and obtain a complete austenite structure, providing the pipe with better strength, plasticity and toughness.
With more than 500 million population, West Europe has been a market of steel products with strong potential mostly due to a lack of iron resources yet staggering production costs.
