800T Carbon Steel Pipes Shipped to Austria on April 22nd 2024
April 22nd is destined to be one of the most memorable days for Jiuzhou Metal in 2024 as it has just witnessed the largest cargo shipment by far this year! A whopping 800 tons of carbon steel pipes went offshore from Tianjin port heading towards Austria and will arrive in less than a month. This shipment is considered one of the few colossal shipments ever sent out by Jiuzhou Metal in 5 years.
As a matter of fact, Austria has not been a very frequent destination importing steels from China with only less than 10 million population. And the long sailing schedule and high shipping cost are also the factors getting in the way of trade activities between both countries. Despite that, many European buyers still prefer to import from China, due to a mix of advantages of doing so. For one, China has numerous manufacturers that can meet the production need of such items at lower costs with a relatively short lead time, taking advantage of the economy of scale and large inventory level. That is why many buyers from countries like Austria with limited budget and high expectations on delivery date would seek help with their order fulfillment from China instead of some nearby countries. For another, China is very rich in the iron ore resource, which is the primary raw material needed to produce steel products including carbon steel plates. The production cost, consisting mainly of labour cost, inventory cost, and raw material cost, is much lower in China than in many developed countries.
This order placed by our Austrian client features the S335 seamless steel pipes of mixed grade. S355 is a low carbon manganese-containing steel alloy. This medium-strength carbon steel has both good weldability and good impact resistance. Grade S355 steel is also well suited for sub-zero temperature applications. As a high-strength low-alloy steel, S335 seamless steel pipes can effectively reduce the weight of the structure, improve the strength and stiffness of the structure, and improve durability while reducing the thickness of the structure. So they are commonly used in the production of ships, power station equipment, lifting and transportation machinery, and other engineering and welded structural parts that bear higher loads.
