150 Tons Stainless Steel Pipes shipped to Cambodia on May 10th, 2024
May 10th turns out to be another day worth celebrating for Jiuzhou Metal as well as our Cambodian client thousands of miles away. 150 tons of stainless steel pipes ordered last months by our new client just left Tianjin port heading south towards Cambodia on the 10th of May, and will land and get discharged by the end of the month!
Cambodia is located in the southern part of the Indochina Peninsula in Asia, bordering Vietnam to the east and southeast, Laos to the north, Thailand to the west and northwest, and the Gulf of Siam to the southwest. Cambodia's main export markets are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and Canada; the main import sources are China, Thailand and Vietnam. The garment industry and construction industry are the two pillars of Cambodia's industry.
Over the last decade, China has been the very largest exporting country of steel products for most Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia for a variety of reasons. Aside from close geographical proximity and favorable trade policies, China is one of the few countries that offer such steel items at lower costs with a relatively short lead time, taking advantage of the economy of scale and large inventory level.
Speaking of what was ordered from our client, it was actually the most common type of stainless steel ever known, namely the 304 stainless steel pipes. 304 is a highly-recognized material for its corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties. In addition, it has exceptional hot-workability such as stamping and bending, without leaving heat treatment hardening phenomenon. 304 stainless steel pipe features a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is very resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. 304 stainless steel pipes are widely used in food processing equipment, building materials, automobile parts and other fields for its versatility and relatively low cost.
